In-home Respite For Caregivers:
If you are a caregiver for a older parent or relative, and you need support — it is available to you through the National Family Caregiver Support Program.
One of the services that may be available to you through your local Area Agency on Aging, is the in-home respite program for caregivers.
What is the in-home caregiver respite program? If your relative is too ill to go to adult day care, a qualified individual may be able to come to your home to care for your older relative at little or no cost to you.
You can be free to care for yourself or do errands that you need to do. It is important that you take good care of yourself and there are also Caregiver Support Groups to help you with this.
